Established in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain extension is the sole TLD planned for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. At first, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to reserve john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level domains remained running.

Through our company, you can buy your dot NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to update the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our firm if you have its EPP transfer code from the present domain registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no particular restrictions on who can purchase a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
